For many of us, one of the most challenging parts of our work is not the dog (or cat!), or even the owner!
No, it’s the referring vet!
I’m truly not being disparaging in any way here, but I’m sure I’m not the only one who sometimes has uncertainty around my role in liaison with veterinarians – and honestly, the feedback that I have had from some vets and vet staff confirms that this is also reciprocated!
If, like me, you are someone who wants to do things ‘by the book’ and also has a huge amount of respect for our veterinary colleagues, then you want to do this right – but what are the ‘rules’ – and how can we work hand-in-hand with referring vets to ensure the best possible outcome for their clients?
Well, who better to ask than a busy vet who is also a veterinary behaviourist!
